Job Description:

Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the Functional Test, Quality Control and Build Standard to meet specification of high quality control panels and switchgear as part of a small team within the Hamilton factory and customer location worldwide.


Responsibilities
Familiarising yourself with the specification to establish:
a. Panel physical dimensions , colour, components used cable and
crimp type etc. are compliant with specification.
b. The required operation of the system being controlled
logical operation is correct and equipment ratings are adequate.


-Prepare item for testing i.e. Connect required test simulation
equipment and power supplies as required.
-Test item using Electrical Drawings and FAT Document.
-Set-up any item which requires Parameter setting i.e. Inverters, UPS, etc.
after consultation with Design Engineer
-Go on-line to any PLC, HMI or PC to download the required software
for that project.
-Raise issues with design engineers which you consider require changes
or clarification.
-Changes to design are only undertaken with consent of the
responsible design engineer
-Fully document the Test Procedure and mark up all drawing errors
found or changes made through testing process.


-Responsible for the Health and Safety within the test area:
There are strict Safe Methods of Working within the test bay and
workshop areas, including the use of PPE, during Live Working
conditions, which MUST be strictly complied with
-The tester is also responsible for the H&S of anyone assisting with
testing and must ensure they following the safe working practices of
Live testing. -Upkeep of all test equipment and maintain calibration certificates.
-Work to QA and H&S procedures


Skills/Experience
High standard of basic engineering skills:
a. Measuring
b. Cutting with various power tools
c. Tapping
d. Grinding
e. Use of various power tools normally used in panel construction
f. Cable crimping
g. Be competent with the use of electrical test instrumentss
h. Be familiar with common control panel components
i. Full UK driving licence

Experience: Must have minimum 5 years relevant experience

Qualifications: ONC Elec & Elec as minimum
