A Year in Review 2021

A Year in Review 2021

2021 has been a big and busy year for Parkburn! As the year comes to a close, we wanted to reflect on what has been a very positive year for Parkburn following the many challenges and uncertainties faced as a result of the Pandemic.

Team Growth

Following a difficult year, we are happy to report that in the past year we have been able to expand and strengthen our team within both our Hamilton and Telford Offices.

Our new colleagues bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to the table and are great assets to the team.  This year we have also been able to hire new apprentices who will continue to learn and develop with us here in Parkburn.

Projects Completed

Parkburn has been extremely busy this year with numerous projects on the go. We are very proud of our employees for working so hard to ensure all projects were completed on time as always.

Innovation

Innovation is at the heart of what we do and earlier this year, Parkburn’s patented Lift-line Management System (LMS) integrated within the McGregor FibreTrak crane was awarded ‘qualified technology status’ by DNVGL under the DNVGL ST407 rope-based Deployment and Recovery Systems (DRS).

We are also particularly proud of our ability to adapt in these challenging times. One example was our ability to continue to deliver our worldwide services even with substantial travel restrictions imposed. This made us rethink how we can best serve our clients and as a result we were able to offer remote commissioning from our Hamilton Office to the Far Eastern Hemisphere.

Events & Exhibitions

With most events changing to a virtual format allowing attendance to continue throughout the pandemic, it was great to see the return of in-person events allowing us to network with existing and new clients.

In December we were able to exhibit and be ‘Gold’ sponsors of the ‘Offshore Wind North East Event’ in Sunderland. This event allowed us to showcase our capabilities in the renewables sector whilst also hearing from key speakers.

Partnerships and Collaborations

In December we announced our collaboration with Scantrol of Norway to utilise the Scantrol range of Active Heave Compensation products in the full range of Parkburn’s handling systems and winches. The Scantrol range of products and solutions rank amongst the best in class with a large installed field proven set of installations. The partnering of Scantrol and Parkburn’s technology in this sector will enable full proven active heave compensation solutions utilising both fibre and steel rope mediums in all depths of water around the World.

Also, our partnership with Ampyx Power in the design and manufacture of the tethered aircraft landing deck and catapult systems continues to push forward with several groundbreaking technologies and is soon to be readied for manufacturing. Stay tuned for more updates on this in the new year!

Looking Ahead to 2022

As we continue to face challenges and uncertainties from the Pandemic, we look forward to continuing our work for our existing clients and look forward to starting on new projects due to commence in the new year. As ever we are excited to work with new clients.

We have a further five shipsets of cable handling equipment going out in the first half of 2022 and our Deep-Water Capstan technology heading to 6000 meters water depth, exciting times ahead.

We also have some great events lined up for 2022 with our first being Subsea Expo in Aberdeen and we look forward to seeing you there, stay tuned to our website for other events we will be attending throughout the year.

Everyone at Parkburn would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
